ImageNet Consulting started as Southwest Typewriter Company in 1956 as a typewriter repair company. With a $50 loan from his mother, Bobby Roberson began working out of his garage. He had to compete with major typewriter manufacturers for business and was able to do so successfully by focusing on service and trust.
As technology began to evolve we purchased "Dale's Business Machines" an office supply company that sold analog copiers. Our company saw copiers as a product that could benefit our customers by improving efficiency. Southwest Typewriter Company began to move away from the typewriter business and joined the imaging movement and began going by the name BMI Systems.
In the 80's we began our partnership with Canon and began to exclusively carry their product. By the early 90's, the Canon multifunctional devices were introduced, and we began providing our customers with devices that could both print and copy.
In '98 our Canon multifunctional devices could not only print and copy, but also included fax and color capabilities.
By the early 2000's multifunctional devices began to include scanning capabilities and as a result our industry began to change and so did our company's vision. Now that our customers have the ability to turn paper documents into digital files, how can we help them optimize this process and improve workflows? This ultimately became the onramp for document management.
We started offering software that could assist in the electronic distribution of documents and automation of workflow.
In 2004, we began to work with businesses to integrate hardware and software that would not only assist in the production, capture and distribution of documents, but also the overall management and archival of all electronic documents and processes.
As more companies are beginning to manage their content digitally and more efficiently, the same goes for printed advertising. Digital Signage and Displays is the next generation of effective communication in public and private spaces and achieves a 4-9 times better ROI than traditional advertising.
